The BC-P55D-60 is a diesel generator set rated 55 kVA / 44 kW in standby duty, fitted with an 1103A-33TG1 engine and open configuration. It delivers 50/60 Hz with three-phase four-wire output, 110/208 V – 277/480 V.

This is the usual backup rating for a commercial site or a small industrial unit: it carries the essential load without oversizing the installation, and leaves headroom for starting motors and compressors. BCP's Perkins range spans 10 to 2500 kVA with Perkins power, intended for standby duty and for extended running depending on how the fuel and cooling system is specified.

Standby and prime ratings

The standby rating (55 kVA / 44 kW) is what the set delivers during a grid outage, for a limited number of hours a year and without sustained overload. The prime rating (PRP) allows continuous duty with varying load. Sizing starts from the real load in kW, corrected by power factor, with headroom left for motor starting.
